Just a Quiet Stay

I talked to him today,

No storm to outrun,
No debts left unpaid,

We spoke like
evening light;
low and warm,
where old thorns
once were born.

No rewinds,
No repairs,

Just care.
Just being there.

And for that quiet stay,
the ache never arrived-
like it forgot its way.

Be’ahava,
Cassandra
