Fragments of Cassandra

You who loves,
love still.

For there is something sacred
in giving your heart
to another soul.

It is the quiet blooming
of the spirit.
The soft awakening
of light within the chest.

It is the gentleness of heaven
placed briefly
into human hands.

And though life remains uncertain,
love makes even the unknown
feel beautiful.

For to be loved,
and to love in return,
is perhaps the closest thing
to divinity we will ever know.
